One of the benefits of being within the Volvo family is getting a sneak peak at the innovations that will ultimately benefit you, our clients. Maximising productivity potential and improving safety is the driving force behind the development of Volvo’s new Co-Pilot.
Volvo Co-Pilot was developed in-house in collaboration with CPAC System AB, a company wholly owned by the Volvo Group that develops and integrates safety-critical electronic control systems.
The system promises to deliver total autonomy and will remove the need for additional onsite personnel, resulting in increased site safety. In addition, a range of audio and visual alerts will indicate when pre-set operating limits are met.
Co-Pilot is designed to improve productivity by minimising interruptions to workflows and significantly reduce rework, saving you time and money.
Volvo says the user-friendly 10” high definition in-cab display and touch screen will provide real-time insight into the work you’re doing with the ability to customize functions and targets in seconds and easily monitor work progress.
The Co-Pilot system recently won ‘most innovative Human Machine Interface feature’ in the international Car HMI Awards 2016. However, even with all this innovative technology the operators will still have to listen to the AM radio to hear Matt and Dave or get the cricket scores!
We look forward to providing the safety and productivity benefits the Volvo Co-Pilot offers to our clients in the near future.
